Catherine Sloman

Catherine teaches baking and culinary skills at Bread Ahead and to private clients. Catherine also teaches from time to time at Ballymaloe Cookery School in Cork, Ireland. She writes about food, offers catering for local customers in north London and has cooked in restaurant kitchens. 

Catherine joined the Bread Ahead team in 2019, having trained at various schools, including Ballymaloe, Leith’s and  Cordon Bleu. 

“I’m passionate about teaching others the joys of baking – seeing those simple ingredients turn into an amazing loaf or a crowd-pleasing cake and giving people the confidence to try it for themselves at home!”

It’s not all about bread – Catherine also loves to teach aspiring cooks to learn to embrace the kitchen. She loves developing new workshops, with a special interest in seasonal food and leads on the Bread Ahead Kitchen offering.
