Learn to bake and decorate exquisite cakes over four weeks, in this online cake baking course.

If you’ve ever wanted to truly master cake baking, icing and decoration this four week course will get you there. Each week you’ll learn the skills and methods behind the fundamentals of cake baking. Week one you’ll learn the correct way to prepare a number of different sponges, understanding the best practice for mixing batters, knowing when a sponge is properly baked and how to store.

Alongside our expert bakery school teachers you’ll master buttercreams, fillings and preserves and finally bring all of your newly developed skills together in week four to decorate and assemble your cakes. Our most comprehensive cake baking class will have you mastering cakes in just four weeks all from the comfort of your kitchen.

WEEK 1  Sponges (fluffy butter sponge, chiffon cake)

WEEK 2 Fillings (jam, curd & caramel)

WEEK 3 Buttercreams (Swiss meringue buttercream, German buttercream)

WEEK 4 Decorations (ganache drip, nut brittle & assembly and decoration of cakes)

Need to Know:

The recipes are designed for bakers of all skill level we recommend using an electric whisk or stand mixer.  Your workbook includes a complete ingredients shopping and equipment list

  • When you select your first session time this will be your session start time every week for the duration.
  • When you enrol for Week 1, you are signing up to join us for every week, you do not need to confirm attendance with us each week.
  • Download your workbook from your confirmation email.
  • Allergens include: gluten, egg, nuts & dairy.
  • Each workshop will last approximately 2 – 2.5 hours (total of 8 – 10 hours)
