1st Workshop: Sunday 31st January 2021 2pm

A little known fact is that Japan has a long and illustrious culture of bakery and bread.
In this bakery workshop we celebrate this history and teach you all the skills and knowledge to bake some very Japanese breads; the distinctive looking melon pan named after its crackled melon like texture. You’ll also get to grips with a a savoury rice loaf and the most delectable custard buns which uniquely balance the sweet and savoury flavours.

During the 2 hour live workshop we will bake: MELON PAN, RICE LOAF & CUSTARD BUNS.

There is a small amount of dough preparation you will need to complete the day before your workshop. This is a very simple recipe and we have included all the details in the workbook.

The recipes are designed for bakers of all skill level and to be mixed by hand, using domestic kitchen utensils, no specialist equipment is needed.  Your workbook includes a complete ingredients shopping and equipment list. The workshop will last approximately 2 – 2.5 hours.
