The burning of the Yule log is a tradition celebrated across the continent, at Bread Ahead we’re more familiar with the baking of the Yule! A wonderfully classic bake borrowed from our French and Belgian neighbours, it’s hard not to love this festive cake.

You will learn how to create this incredibly light sponge, decadently layered in chocolate buttercream. We’ll even get creative with some marzipan decoration. At this time of year we love to bake plenty of amaretti, these make beautiful gifts, it helps that they happen to remind us of snowballs too! We’ll be creating our festive inspired amaretti with orange and ginger.

 

During the 2 hour live workshop we will bake: CHOCOLATE SPONGE, CHOCOLATE BUTTERCREAM, MARZIPAN DECORATIONS & ALMOND AMARETTI.

The recipes are designed for bakers of all skill level and to be mixed by hand, using domestic kitchen utensils, no specialist equipment is needed. Your workbook includes a complete ingredients shopping and equipment list. The workshop will last approximately 2 hours.
