Get started on your sourdough journey.

Join fellow sourdough beginners and our expert Bakery School Teachers for an extensive look at ‘What Is Sourdough’.

Over the course of the session you’ll learn all about the key principles of sourdough baking from understanding what is a starter and how to create one, to why sourdough baking has risen in popularity in recent years. You will make your very own starter, as well as receive all the guidance you’ll need to build and care for your starter at home. These sessions will be a blend of baking science, some practical skills and of course plenty of tastings.

This course uses wheat. Unfortunately we aren’t able to tailor recipes for substitutions or alterations, as these can fundamentally change the composition and outcome of the recipes. For more information regarding our ingredients, please contact us before booking your course.

This session runs for approximately 90 minutes.

This session is suitable for all levels of experience.

Note: All minors under the age of 12  may not attend as the class and equipment will not be suitable for their needs. Under 18s must be accompanied by a paying adult. If at any point during the workshop the tutor believes the child is causing a disruption to the class, he/she will ask both the adult and child to leave.
